All About Us (web) offers services for teens with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) out of its office in Greystone Mall/Antrim Enterprise. The walls and many of the shutters on the building are covered in art, painted with help from Visual Waste (web) – a few are shown here.

“Dream. Love. Strength. Achieve. Life can take you higher than drugs.” New (May 2026) figures from the NI Statistics And Research Agency show 251 drug-related deaths in 2024 in Northern Ireland, most of which (219) are from drug abuse (NISRA). This new wall-painting in the New Lodge encourages young people to turn their backs on drugs and engage in activities suc as aerosol art and mountain-climbing.

“Palestine bleeds. Over 20,000 children killed. That’s more than one child killed every hour. And 42,000 injured by the Israeli murder machine. Their revenge will be the laughter of their children. Andersonstown stands with Palestine. We are all Palestinians.” The figures perhaps come from a Save The Children report from September, 2025.

“Our youth, out culture, our community, our future”. This mural was painted in 2014 but the future for one of the clubs featured – Seán Mac Dıarmada/Seán Sean McDermott’s in the yellow with green stripe – was short-lived, as the club folded later the same year. The other club, Michael Davitt’s in the green, white, and gold strip, still exists.

“This Christmas, don’t forget the Palestinian children! Nollaıg shona daoıbh agus athbhlıan faoı mhaıse daoıbh! Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!” As the final image shows, this board is next to the Egyptian Arch in Newry, and is on public land. The DUP called for the board’s removal in January; Liz Kimmins, minister for Infrastructure, said that at the time that there were no plans to remove it (BBC), and a few weeks later (February 10th, the day of these photographs) it was still in situ, though an investigation by Newry, Mourne, and Down council is on-going.

This entry updates 2025’s C’Mon On In, which showed the low wall with local landmarks. The new pieces on the adjacent wall, the six bollards and three pillars, have a musical theme. The wall to the side depicts a sea-horse and a wolf (from the Belfast coat of arms – see The Sea Walls) among soccer-playing lions against a backdrop of flax flowers.
As before, Carla Hodgson (ig) worked with local children to produce the art (Belfast Live).

Smile … you’re on CCTV. A “peace line” or “war wall” divides the CNR Newington and PUL Tiger’s Bay along the top of Hallidays Road, and ends with an abandoned building at the junction with the Limestone Road. In 2002, in response to persistent rioting, rather than closing off the road, five cameras were installed on the Limestone Road at the point where the two areas meet (BBC | Community Relations pdf). Once installed, the range and power of the cameras were pre-emptively demonstrated to local youths (Guardian).
According to Forss 2018 (p. 53), the concrete bases were painted by a local youth-group (pdf) circa 2015. These jaunty images, and the mural in the background of the fifth image (When Young People Are United), attempt to present a different vision of the interface to young children going to Currie Primary and the Sunshine play-group.
